Belgium - Ernest Bernard - Double Barrel - Pinfire (Lefaucheux) - Shotgun - 12 ga

Pinfire shotgun calibre 12, made in Liege by Ernest Bernard. Steel locks marked ‘Marseille’ on one side and ‘Rochegude arqu’ on the other. Real Damascus barrel marked ‘E. Bernard’ in gold letters. Barrel interior is oxidised. Walnut butt with handling marks. Label on the left of the butt. Good working condition This rare and very interesting label was stuck on the butt following the German occupation of France in 1940, obliging the shotgun owners to hand them in to the gendarmerie of their town. The name of the gendarmerie and the owner was marked on it. Luckily the label was never taken off after the gun was recovered by its owner.
