Attractive Japanese music box on legs with ballerina moving around when the box is opened on mechanically driven music with fixed key at the bottom. When closed, the music stops. Mechanism still in very good condition. 11 mirrors placed in a semicircle to enable viewing the ballerina from all sides. In good overall condition (see photos) with 2 compartments, red fabric lining for jewellery/rings. Hand-painted depictions of a Japanese garden with pagodas, ships and the Fuji mountain in gold, blue, white and pink lacquer on black. Finished on the lid with small pieces of mother of pearl. Front clasp with key (which is rather stiff) lockable. Very decorative object for the dressing table. Size: 18x11x12 cm.
