Belgian artillery percussion musket carbine: - Calibre: 15.5/15.8 at opening - Total length: 86 cm, barrel is 47 cm Strange musket from Liege, I think from the artillery given its small size and bayonet tenon. The manufacturer or subcontractor ‘JR’ is marked on the barrel in two places. See photos for the markings, serial number 2166. The tip and mechanism is Belgian including the barrel (see Belgian hallmarks). The front is British-inspired: opening and rod. The front of the barrel was previously attached with a nail to the tip (as on British rifles), before the pin system was affixed. I don't know what type of bayonet fits on it. The trigger guard is not completely held on (there is no strap flap). Mechanism in good condition, functional, very firm springs. Round and smooth barrel, wood in good condition (healthy) with signs of wear. See photos, I will happily answer your questions. Sold only within France and Europe. Happy bidding.
