Cast iron ornaments / wall plaque 'The funeral of the hunter'. Wall plaque after a print by the Austrian-German painter Moritz von Schwind (1804-1871) 'Wie die Tiere den Jäger begraben'. The following can be seen on the ornament: In front a boar in a long cloak with a shovel over his shoulder, followed by two wolves with torches. Next, four deer carrying the bier which is covered by a blanket on which a rifle and a hat are placed. Underneath the bier a rabbit with a funeral wreath and closing the funeral cortege a snivelling fox with handkerchief. Sizes: Length 61 cm, height 22 cm, weight 3 kg. The ornament is in very good condition.
