Antoine Dubois - Mons Pottery Belgium - Art Deco vase decor MEX D83

A very rare vase by Antoine Dubois with the known tight cubist motifs that he applied several times to similar, cubist to almost modernist vases from the early Art Deco period. The vase is signed on the underside with MEX D83. To finish it off, Antoine Dubois placed his own signature on the body. The vase was produced by the company he founded himself in 1920, on his return to Bergen/Mons, named 'Mons Pottery Belgium'. In 1925, the name changed to La Céramique Montoise. From then on, the vases were marked ‘Bergen’ at the underside, so it is certain that this vase was produced before 1925 and after 1920. MEX refers to the specific production of this type of modernist vases, as it only found on vases with this motif. Anyway quite a unique vase, very hard to find in this size. Furthermore it is in perfect condition, without any remark. The height is about 11.5 cm, the diameter 10 cm.
