Two Handmade Rajasthani Wedding Horses - wood
Two beautiful hand-carved and hand-painted wooden horses from Rajasthan, India. In a traditional wedding ceremony the bride arrives on a lavishly decorated horse, and the groom's family will give a gift of a replica horse to the bride's family as part of the dowry. These pieces are in amazing condition for their age - and probably date from the mid 1960s.
Rare and highly decorative!
Condition: Good. Some minor wear of the paintwork. Made out of several pieces of wood, which is why one can see a thin line on the legs and the neck. Unbroken.

Height: 22 cm.
Length: 29 cm.
Width: 6 cm.
Weight: 20 g and 380 g.
