Märklin - 1102 - Car Mercedes Silberpfeil W 196

Almost new Mercedes W196 race car in the original packaging. Marklin article number 1102. Made in 1994. With clockwork motor with the wind-up key. Also the original Marklin certificate included at the bottom of the box. This is a model, signed by Karl Kling (see last photo), a former Formula 1 racing driver from Germany. He drove between 1954 and 1955 11 Grands Prix for team Mercedes. He scored two podium spots, one fastest lap and seventeen points. The race car is optically and technically in almost new condition, the clockwork motor has been tested and works fine. However, it’s more a gimmick than to actually play with, the action radius is only a few meters. So a beautiful display case model. The scale is 1:18, length approximately 30 cm, made entirely of metal and put together with bolts and nuts.
