Crafted by artisans in Uttar Pradesh, India, this exclusive medium size vintage 6 compartment Kum Kum box is handcasted in solid brass with beautiful peacocks atop each compartment. Such ornate containers were used for holding colourful herbal powders such as makeup & vermilion referring to the red pigment used by married Indian women and to store "Bindis" - large colorful dots of cloth for their forehead. Each compartment opens by removing the central peacock. A great conversation starter, this unique vintage piece will enhance any space in your home.
