Perseus with the head of Medusa is a sculpture created by Benvenuto Cellini.
It stands on a square base depicting the story of Perseus and Andromeda.
The mythological story of Perseus beheading Medusa, a hideous Gorgon with a female face whose hair had turned into snakes. Everyone who looked at her turned to stone.
Perseus stands naked on a sash and winged sandals, triumphantly atop Medusa's body with her head in his raised hand.
Dimensions: 6.3 x 6.3 x 27 cm.
