Charles Catteau - Boch La Louvière - Earthenware vase 1930 Art Deco
Ceramic vase period Art Deco 1920-30, manufacture Boch La Louvière, monograms CT (Charles Catteau 1880-1966), model D 1049, very beautiful stylized decoration of sheaves of flowers falling all over the body of the vase, weight: approx. 1200g. Very good condition.
Charles Catteau was a major Franco-Belgian ceramist, he was born on 26th January 1880 in Douai and died on 20th October 1966 in Nice. He worked with all materials, tried all genres (figurative, cubist, Japanese...) and found great success and international recognition during the Exhibition of Decorative Arts in 1925 where he won a Grand Prize.
