Old double-sided game counter with four brass dials (old 'Norfolk Liar' game counter). These old game counters (most of which were made by the famous English manufacturer James Dixon & Sons) were very popular in the 19th century and during the first half of the 20th century, at a time when game was much more abundant than today. Both sides of the counter were used to count the game shot. The inscriptions are in German and the counters allow to count rabbits, hares, pheasants and partridges.
