Philips - 22GF303/03X (“UFO”of “Space Age”) - record player with built-in amplifier
The Philips 22GF303/03X “UFO” or “Space Age” is a design gramophone from 1970 and design by Frenchman Patrice Dupont.
The record player is in very beautiful condition, works excellently with a lot of volume.
Light signs of wear, but certainly not intrusive.
Suitable for 33/45/78 rpm, so for LPs, singles and bakelite records.
Automatic turnoff and separate 45 rpm adapter.
The lid on the bottom side for batteries/power cord compartment is a reproduction (photo 7).
Dimensions: 30x11x30 cm
Will be shipped via registered and insured mail.
------------------------------------------------------------------
The design has some striking features:
For instance, the round plastic housing with the clear lid has the same size as an LP.
The lid of the battery/power cord compartment has the exact same measurements as a single.
The plateau, the arm, the volume control and the extendable support strip; everything has the form of a gramophone record.
The rotation speed is set with the slider under the arm.
The volume is adjustable with the turn button next to it.
The device can play both on the mains and on batteries.
The round lid is also the sound box for the speaker. The sound is bright and because there is a support on the bottom of the lid, this stays upright well.
The white dial with the red line is the volume controller. Underneath that is the white slider to set the speed.
