This beautiful "Fruit Basket" Teapot is made by the Japanese architects duo Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa (Pritzker Prize winners in 2010), who work together under the name 'SANAA'. They participated in the research project 'Tea & Coffee Towers', conceived by Alessandro Mendini and executed by Alessi, with the theme tea and coffee sets. 22 architects/designers were commissioned by Alessi to design a version limited to 99 pieces, in silver. This is the version in stainless steel. Fruit Basket The forms of all the individual elements are inspired by pears and apples you might see piled in a fruit basket. The Teapot as a whole is in very good condition; almost no common signs of wear and tear. Just for decoration - see pictures.
