CK METEORITE -Carbonaceous Chondrite- Exemplary oriented! Spectacular! - 341 g

Far less common than their ordinary chondrite sisters, they account for 5% of meteorites that arrive on Earth. They are characterised by the presence of carbon in their composition —hence their name—, usually in the form of organic compounds such as amino acids. Besides, carbonaceous chondrites usually contain water or minerals that indicate that they have been altered by their presence. With a dark matrix and generally abundant, these are the oldest meteorites that we know and, therefore, the oldest material that you could ever have in your hands. CK meteorites are carbonaceous chondrites, with a matrix in dark grey hues, sometimes slightly greenish, with abundant chondrules that can range from type 3 to 6, with an average diameter of 1 mm, that is, slightly smaller than CVs and greater than COs (family of carbonaceous which they are related with. Sometimes they contain CAIs of considerable size. Additionally, some CK specimens show impact lines that indicate a violent history of their parent body or an impact history. Besides, the specimen in this lot has a shield-type oriented shape which tells us about how it crossed the Earth’s atmosphere during its fall. An excellent opportunity to add this wonder of the universe to your collection. Museum quality. All our meteorites come with an IMCA (International Meteorite Collectors Association) certificate, so we guarantee for life the authenticity of all our meteorites. Buy with guarantees. Regards and best wishes. CRATER METEORITES
