Philips’ first CD player came to the world in 1983, and this CD151 just followed suit in 1987. The legendary vintage CD151 presents in a unique style of simplicity and elegance. The CD151 produces high-end classic sound, which is warm, clear and neutral and the bass is very punchy. It can easily compete with some high-end players currently available. Its DAC and other features are impressive to ensure an outstanding sonic performance in surpassing the highly acclaimed first CD player of Philips' CD100. My unit had been technically checked with the installment of a new displayer. However, it might need to be powered on/off for some time perhaps to warm up before reading discs properly. After that, it started functioning nicely (no idea why). Looking almost like a new one.
