Rare and prestigious 6-cup "Archimede" espresso maker made by the Italian company Stella around the 1980s. Stella is known for its famous longtime slogan: "101% italiano" (101% Italian). The coffee maker is NOS, complete with original box, red protective cloth branded Stella, instructions booklet and lace with company's tag. Among the photos you can see the Archimede line from the Stella booklet. This Stella Collection product is a very innovative piece, especially with regard to design. The Archimede coffee maker is made from 18/10 stainless steel and set apart by its wavy design. It also has a star-shaped whistle which sounds when the coffee is ready. The handle is also very convenient, covered with a steel spring to insulate the handle from the heat. The Archimede line also includes a sugar bowl, milk jug, coffee cups and a kettle, which you can find in another of my lots. The unique valve is hidden between the boiler and the central body to preserve the external design. In terms of construction quality, I believe it is even better than Alessi products. Note that the lid is also closed at the bottom so as not to lose heat, a detail never seen in any other coffee maker. The knob on the top is made from nickel-plated brass. The coffee maker is NOS, with no notable flaws. It just needs to be cleaned and used. The box is well preserved but it needs cleaning.
