RaR - Thomas Eyck - Wall Vase - t.e. 109, Schwarm, number 16 / 40

"Schwarm" (swarm) was born from the designers' fascination for the diversity in collections of natural fauna. Within these collections, extremely small differences make it possible to distinguish one animal from the other. In order to study these differences, "schwarm" consists of 10 different types of beetles. Each model is glazed using ten or eleven different techniques. Viewing this collection is like a journey through time, a quest into the world of art and nature. This lot shows the dicranorrhina wallicht beetle and is numbered 16/40. RaR was founded in 2010 by two German artists: Beate Reinheimer and Ulrike Rehm. Their work has been exhibited all over the world and is part of the permanent collections of Boymans van Beuningen, Rotterdam and Centraal Museum Utrecht. "Schwarm" is part of the permanent collections of Museum Princessehof Leeuwarden, Museum of Modern Art, Chicago, and others.
