Poul Kjaerholm - Lounge chair (1) - PK 20 - Leather, Metal

The rocking chair. In typically Scandinavian fashion, most of Kjærholm’s contemporaries opted for wood as their primary furniture construction material. Kjærholm chose steel as his primary, but always combined it with other materials such as wood, leather, cane or marble. “Steel’s constructive potential is not the only thing that interests me; the refraction of light on its surface is an important part of my artistic work. I consider steel a material with the same artistic merit as wood and leather,” he commented. Beautiful leather with some traces of wear according age and usage with some scratches and tiny spots and minor wear. Still more beautiful than a new piece, out of the patin of the leather. Some damage at the front right corner (picture #14) and some tiny loss of chrome (minor rusty beneath) on both legs (see last pictures). Weight 32 kg. Worldwide shipping possible Pick-up possible (IJmuiden, Port of Amsterdam, the Netherlands)
