Odin’s sun cross symbolised the four forces of life, the four elements, and the circle in the middle is the is the invisible spiritual dimension, the centre point where the earthly and heavenly meets, the fifth element.
This example still has a thick suspension loop, with plenty of life in it and a beautiful centuries-old dark green patina.
