Beautiful Signed Romero Modesty Blaise Pen and Ink Strip published in The Evening Standard in 1970 for the story ‘Willie the Djinn’
Enric Badia Romero delights us with his wonderful inking and beautiful figure drawing and proves yet again that he is a master of the comic arts.
The strip measures 500mm x 165mm and retains all it's original word balloons and Title box.
The multitude of inking techniques are a delight to behold on this strip which features a very scantily clad Modesty addressing her even more scantily clad troops!
There is a rubber stamp on the reverse of the strip showing that it was received on 22/September/1970 alongside a cut out of the strip as it was published in the newspaper, which has been pasted on by the publisher or the artist.
We were very sad to hear that Romero passed away earlier this month. It is with great fondness we will remember his artwork and life in illustration.
