Italian Burr walnut chest of drawers, 1940s. A very good looking well-made and decorative chest of drawers. The patina is super glossy and splendid. Exquisitely handcrafted in light-warm color richly figured burled walnut, made in Genova (Italy), circa 1940s. It features a visually striking burled walnut shaped top with stepped molded edge, over conforming serpentine-front case fitted with six spacious drawers. There is one framed mirror plate in the center, over scalloped pierced apron. The furniture is based on carved solid walnut cabriole legs, ending in whirl feet. There are cracks at the point, under the mirror plate (seen on the photos). In great original condition, consistent with age and use. Measurement: Width 162 cm x Height 86 cm x Depth 55 cm Weight: about 60kg Made in Genova, Italy. Period: 1940s
