Byzantine Silver Reliquary Cross- Encolpion with an Inscription of names of Extremely Rare Saints: St. Zoilus & St.

Byzantine Silver Reliquary Cross- Encolpion with an Inscription of names of Extremely Rare Saints: St. Zoilus & St. Sisoes on each side. Zoilus (301 AD.) + Martyr of Spain was a young man from Spain executed at Cordoba under Emperor Diocletian (284-305 AD). Sisoi the Great, Sisoy the Great, Sisoes of Sceté or Shishoy; Coptic: ⲁⲡⲁ ϫⲓϫⲱⲓ; †429 AD) was an early Christian desert father, a solitary monk pursuing asceticism in the Egyptian desert in a cave of his predecessor, St Anthony the Great. On this cross also with the title CWOTER (eng. Saviour). Exceptional, exceedingly rare Encolpion mainly because is with names of two not common saints both respected from Catholic and Orthodox Churches, also because is from the period of iconoclasm where the images of saint were forbidden so we see only the inscriptions and not the last because is made of silver with traces of golden surface on the edges. Length: 4,8cm. Width: 2,2cm. Purchased from a German Auction House. The object will be shipped with an Austrian export license. For buyers outside EU the export license will be issued separately and will take from 1-5 weeks. Please note that we can't interfere this process. Our invoice is also a guaranty of authenticity of the object.
