The photos above feature a considerably large glass wasptrap, also called a flytrap this example was made most probably in the second half of 20th century (for size reference see last picture where there is included a normal size flytrap next to it). Glass flytraps were used since late 18th century, by adding a mixture of water and sugar inside the bowl wich attracted flies and other insects they would finally meet their end after multiple failed attempts to escape.
