A fine and large solid silver cake server or fish server with dark hardwood handle, circa 1830, measuring circa 32cm in length and weighing a gross 91g. Engraved to the contoured blade with scrolling acanthus, scallop ornament connector and gadrooned sleeve. Stamped to the stem with Hamburg city mark, maker´s mark of Johann H.F. Viol and cipher 65, probably indicating 65 grams of silver was used in the manufacture of the object. Condition: Overall very good, no damages or repairs. Minor wear, minimal scratches. This lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered and insured mail. Please note that lots paid after 21-03 will be shipped in the first week of April.
