NAPOLEON 111 BED COVER with initials B.H. CA.1870 - Textile - 1.65 m - 1.55 m
This is an Empire Napoleon 111 knitted bed cover.
In all the years I have had bed covers going through my hands
I have never witnessed this particular one.
Yes the design with the flowers is classic,
but to have had the cover monogrammed is new to me.
The initials B.H. are embroidered by hand and in high relief.
They are sitting in a frame of what I always call a " small shell design ".
The cover is slightly rounded on each corner and the edgings are scalloped
which gives the cover a nice finish
.The cover could equally be used as a decorative table cover and please see 2nd photo
or even as a throw. The cover is in excellent condition and has been sitting in the wedding trousseau
for many years.
PLEASE NOTE:
The cover will require "refreshing" as the edges are slightly soiled.
But please do not wash the cover, but DRY CLEAN only.
