Hartmann Schedel, Constancia. Nürnberg 1498. Beautiful woodcut view from the rare first German edition in early coloring. Dimensions: 40 x 55,5 cm. The beautiful illustrations on the back side show amongst others the " Council of Constance", the French scholar, educator and reformer Johannes Gerson, the Italian humanist, historian and statesman Leonardo Aretino and the philosopher Johannes Hus. Reasonable condition, with old restorations in the middle part of the view and some reinforcement of the margins. See foto's for better impression.
