The exhibition will take as its starting point a photo album from his childhood, and will focus on his activities in the 1950s, when he developed a vigorous activity through exchanges with artists in various fields, including the avant-garde groups "Experimental Studio" and "Graphic Collective," the 1960s, when he turned his lens on architecture, cities, and the environment that were transformed with the high economic growth, and the 1960s, when he moved between taking photographs and writing. The exhibition traces the artist's footsteps over a 40-year period from the 1950s, when he was actively engaged in exchanges with artists in a variety of fields, to the 1960s, when he focused his lens on architecture, cities, and the environment, which were changing with the rapid economic growth of Japan. The exhibition will focus on the original prints donated by Otsuji, and will also shed light on a group of his works that have never been exhibited publicly before, to examine Otsuji's work from multiple perspectives.
