Pyrite, Galena And Dolonmite Formation Large specimen of crystals on matrix - Height: 350 mm - Width: 160 mm- 6818 g

Large specimen composed of a matrix of galena interspersed with bright and sparkling cubic Pyrite. A contrast of colors that gives brightness to the mineral and clearly highlights each type of crystallization. On the formation of Galena and pyrie we find a crystallization of white dolomite. coming from the Madan mines in Bulgaria. Galena is a sulfide lead ore, it is one of the major lead ores and is known for its lustrous metallic appearance and high density. Galena forms in low-temperature hydrothermal environments, such as mineralized veins and sedimentary reservoirs. It is often associated with other sulfide minerals, such as pyrite, which is an iron sulfide with the formula FeS2. The Madan mines in Bulgaria are known for their mineral wealth and have a long history of mining. The region has deposits of metals such as lead, zinc and copper, which are associated with minerals such as galena and pyrite. The presence of white dolomite in the formation suggests that this area also has rich carbonate mineralogy.
