2009 Joaquin 'Della Societa' Taurasi - Campania Riserva - 1 Bottle (0.75L)

WINE DESCRIPTION Only 120 examples produced and distributed in 2015. Taurasi is the very long-lived, full-bodied barolo of the south, ready to drink or suitable for further ageing. The grapes for the Taurasi Riserva della Società come from 200-year-old vines in Paternopoli, the most beautiful area for Taurasi. They are planted in calcareous, volcanic soil at an average altitude of 550 meters. The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-October and carefully selected. After the soft pressing, the wine is soaked on the skins for no less than 40 days and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine matures for 24 months in 500 liter acacia barrels. WINERY The Irpinia wine region in the province of Avellino, characterized by majestic green forests on the southern foothills of the Apennines, is one of the most fertile areas of Campania. The dream of reviving the quality wine growing that once prevailed here is what motivated Raffaele Pagano to establish his Joaquin winery. Since 1999, the winemaker has been producing remarkable, top-quality wines in the small village of Montefalcione, once again drawing the attention of the international wine world to this unique region. STORAGE Bottles have been kept in wine cabinet SHIPPING The bottles will be carefully packed in order to make sure that the label will not get damaged and sent in a special box.
