Bowl with geometric design. Nariño Culture. 800-1500 AD. Nariño culture refers to the culture of people who once lived in communities in the mountains of Nariño, Colombia from 800 to 1500 AD. It is also known as Capulí culture. Their pottery reached important artistic development, being recognizable by its forms and decoration, with distinctive black on dark red pottery with rectilinear geometric designs. Provenance: Purchased by the current owner to a German gallery. Previously owned by a German private collector (1976). Attached export certificate from Germany. The Supplier warrants that he obtained this lot legally. Provenance statement seen by Catawiki. Important information. The seller guarantees that he is entitled to ship this lot. The seller will take care that any necessary permits will be arranged. The seller will inform the buyer about this if this takes more than a few days.
