a pair of French art deco lamps by Georges Leleu - Lamp - Glass, nickeled bronze or solid brass

GEORGES LELEU A rare pair of 1928-1930 French art deco table lamps by the famous Paris based company of Georges Leleu. He founded the company by the turn of the century. It closed down in the late 30s. The lamps are done in nickel plated bronze or solid brass and hold four shades in clear frosted molded-pressed glass. This model shade is never signed yet directly recognizable and represented on numerous Leleu product posters. I show a picture of the Leleu poster published in September 1928 where we can see both the shades as well as similar designed bases. The poster is of course no part of this sale. The lamps are in very good condition. They still have their original nickel plating. Which shows signs of wear consisting with age. On some spots notably on one of the two decorative knobs the under-laying bronze shines through. The lamps are 31,6 cm high and 24,5 cm wide. The shades have a diameter of 10 cm. I have cleaned the lamps and rewired them with stylish cloth covered twisted cord. They are equipped with four American candelabra base sockets and US 2-prong plugs. For European countries I will place E14 sockets. Safe packaging guaranteed: As specialized restorer of French art Deco lighting for over 20 years I ship my parcels worldwide with the fragile items well protected and fully insured. Having custom made wiring I can accept no returns. #roaringtwenties
