1987 - Fleer - Donruss MLB - 1 Sealed box

1 1987 MLB Donruss Opening Day 273-card factory sealed boxed set. HOF This 1987 Donruss Opening Day Factory Sealed box set is comprised of 273 cards measuring 2-1/2” x 3-1/2” each. Donruss took a unique approach with this issue as each card features a player in the starting line-up of all teams on Opening Day 1987. The front of each card bears a posed or in-action color photo framed by a maroon border. A team logo is placed atop each photo while the respective player’s name and position are printed within the lower border area. Teams in the same city share a checklist card. The series is highlighted by cards of Jose Canseco (#24), Fred McGriff (#38), Robin Yount (#58), Ozzie Smith (#65), Ryne Sandberg (#75), Cal Ripken, Jr. (#133), Mike Schmidt (#160), and Kirby Puckett (#221), as well as by the rookie cards of Will Clark (#96), Barry Larkin (#191), and Bo Jackson (#205). The card for Barry Bonds (#163) was originally printed with an image of Johnny Ray but was “corrected early” in the press run. There is an unknown amount of these errors printed. According to the PSA website sales tracker there is approximately a 1 to 5 ratio of sold errors to correct cards, and a total population of 1 to 20 of registered cards. Players in this set in their Rookie Card year include Will Clark, Bo Jackson, Wally Joyner and Barry Larkin.
