Russian Hand Drawn Icon of Resurrection. The Almighty or Pantokrator is the earliest and primary icon of Christ in Christianity, representing the Savior as Heavenly King and Judge. This image of the Savior most fully reveals His divine and human nature. Jesus Almighty is depicted frontally, sitting on a throne in full length, wearing a cloak without external attributes of divine dignity. The Savior's right hand is raised in blessing. He holds a gospel in his left hand. A nimbus with a cross painted on it forms the face of Christ, and in it are placed the letters IC and XC, representing the Christogram ICXC (Jesus Christ). This image traditionally occupies the space of the central dome of the Orthodox church. At the four ends of the icon are seen cherubs and whimsical creatures. Angels are seen on either side of the throne.
