Tron - made in Italy 1:43 - Model car - Ferrari 166MM (212) Export Fontana "Uovo" Scuderia Marzotto Mille Miglia 1951 #410 Marzotto/Crosara - factory built

Offering to you a rare 1/43rd scale resin artisanal modelcar by: Tron made in Loano, Italy Ferrari 166MM (212) Export Fontana "Uovo" Scuderia Marzotto Mille Miglia 1951 - racing number #410 Giannino Marzotto/Crosara factory built - very good quality - prototype was realized by Luca Tameo for Equipe Tron back in the first Eighties - this model is very rare today one of the most iconic Ferrari of the Fifties - unique in good conditions - with the original ext. cardboard box the reserve price is very reasonable for such a rarity Note the last two photos of the real "Uovo" ... not with this Lot ... Historic Note the Scuderia Marzotto decided to modify the Ferrari 166MM chassis #024MB with an extraordinary new body designed by Reggiani and built by Carrozzeria Fontana in Padua - this car was lighter than normal 212 Ferraris of approx. 100 Kilos - it was then faster and more competitive - this car was leading the Mille Miglia 1951 with margin when Giannino Marzotto had to stop for a tyre problem (a stripped tyre ... but he retired thinking it was a differential problem - he could have changed the tyre and go ahead winning the race and winning the MM with this special body would have been history and would have made the Drake pretty angry - he was selling chassis to the Marzotto family and Scuderia Marzotto but did not like this "freedom of creation" that much ... this same chassis #0024MB won the Giro di Sicilia with the special body "Carrettino Siciliano" ... which is truly weird ... :-) ... the Carrettino Siciliano is also on offer of one of my other auctions ... ps we could realize this fantastic modelcar thanks to a special set of photo we could purchase from Corrado Millanta ... meeting at a later date Mr. Reggiani, helped the project to reach a wonderful final "publication" ...
