A very impressive Ottoman Empire silver-metal ring. It presents a raised oval bezel with a red hardstone intaglio, sitting vertically and showing a standing warrior with a sword or spear in the hands. The intaglio decoration served as a stamp or a seal, illustrating a protective symbol or the heraldry of the owner. The raised bezel is richly decorated on all sides with geometric pattern and the ring band is also partly decorated with a cross hatching pattern whilst the shoulder presents a circular openwork design. Good solid condition, wearable. Signs of wear consistent with age and use.
