A very impressive Ottoman Empire silver-metal ring. It presents a raised circular bezel with a black hardstone intaglio showing a bird in flight. Two incised dots enrich the background. The intaglio decoration served as a stamp or a seal, illustrating a protective symbol or the heraldry of the owner. The raised bezel is richly decorated on all sides with geometric patterns. The ring shoulders are made in the shape of birds. They are depicted with their wings slightly spread but still close to their bodies and their heads supporting the bezel, their bodies seamlessly melt into the ring band. Good solid condition, wearable. Signs of wear consistent with age and use.
