Alessi - Zaha Hadid - Centrepiece - ''Niche'' - Melamine Black

The Niche item holder was designed by Zaha Hadid in 2009 for Alessi. Crafted from black melamine, the holder consists of 5 distinct elements that can be assembled in multiple configurations. The name ''Niche'' implies some specific part of a large whole which refers to each piece of the holder that can be assembled as one. Niche is a perfect example of Hadid's explorational style towards fragmentary geometry and fluid forms. Besides serving as a holder for items, like food or office stationery, Niche can be seen as a sculpture. The item holder is in new and unused condition. Delivered with original packaging. Zaha Hadid: Zaha Hadid (1950 - 2016) was a British Iraqi architect who studied at the Architectural Association in London, where she qualified in 1977. She was a teacher at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, and was a visiting professor at Yale University. She began her professional career in 1979. Her major completed projects include the ''lf one pavilion'' at Weil am Rhein; the Mind Zone at Millennium Dome in London; a tram station and car park in Strasbourg, the Vitra fire station and a ski jump in Innsbruck. Zaha Hadid is also well known as a painter and designer. She designed products for brands like B&B Italia, Magis and Cassina. Hadid's work has been shown in various exhibitions in the United States, Japan, Britain and Germany.
