Founded by Danilo, Sergio and Valeria Santi in Florence in 1945, Vigna Nuova was for over twenty years (until the flood of 1966) an extraordinary space for research, production and promotion in the field of visual arts, design, publishing, architecture and crafts. Alongside the works of art and design by national and international artists, Vigna Nuova offered its production of furniture designed by Danilo, often enriched with enameled components designed by Sergio. The extreme quality of the enamels on copper, in terms of material, composition, and design, is found in various objects and furnishing accessories signed VNF. In 1948 and 1950, the Vigna Nuova Gallery offers two exhibitions by Florentine abstract artists: ‘Arte d’oggi. 4 pittori espongono’ e “Fine dell’astrattismo”, with works by Vinicio Berti, Bruno Brunetti, Alvaro Monnini, Gualtiero Nativi and Mario Nuti.
