Cross "For Military Merit" II class. Duchy of Oldenburg, Germany. Established on September 24, 1914 by the Grand Duke of Oldenburg, Friedrich August II (reigned 1900 – 1918). Early type of production 1914 -1916. Original Ribbon Military personnel of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg were awarded for their bravery on the battlefields of the First World War (1914 - 1918). Military personnel from other German states could also receive the award. The obverse side of the Oldenburg cross: an image of an equal-pointed cross with a wreath of laurel leaves in the spaces between the rays of the cross, in the upper ray there is a crown, in the lower ray the date of the start of hostilities is 1914, in the core is the monogram FA (FRIDERICH AUGUST).
