Cast bronze figure of a seated Gautama Buddha - Thailand (No Reserve Price)
A finely cast and cold gilt figure of the Buddha, seated cross legged on a tiered pedestal for a height of 16.3cm and weight of 912g, complete with triple baldaquin above his head, raising the total height to 37.5cm. The Buddha has his hands in Bhumisparsha mudra, the gesture of touching the earth with the five fingers of his right hand to evoke the earth Goddess Pra Mae Thorani to witness his enlightenment after seven weeks of uninterrupted meditation.
Condition: Very good, no significant damages or repairs. Tassels missing on the tiered baldaquin. Minor wear commensurate with age.
