Virgil Abloh - Efflorescence - 2020

Virgil Abloh - Efflorescence. Print run : 500 copies Content : 28 Pages Size : 130 × 190 mm Language : English Publishing date : 2020 Specs : Softcover Black & White Offset Printed Efflorescence: the collection’s name seems paradoxical for what appears at first to be solid blocks of reality to sit, gather, and look at oneself. Beyond the sharp fact that it is always fruitful to deal with paradoxes, this botanical term reflects the production method of the pieces. Like these wildflowers that fit into the interstices and corners of urban space, the holes, formal accidents, and graffiti that cover and personalize— in different ways each time—the concrete surface offers a visual and emotional texture to recharge our immediate environment: a landscape where the rigidity of structures and urban planning meets the randomness of organic growth and human appropriation and mark-making. Virgil Abloh took the art world by storm in the summer of 2019 by launching his first ever solo exhibition at the MCA in Chicago. He designed for companies as Off White, Nike, Vitra, Louis Vuitton, Braun, Mercedes, Rimowa, Fendi, IKEA, and Kanye West. Virgil Abloh (September 30, 1980 – November 28, 2021) was an American designer, Dj and entrepreneur. He’s considered one of the most important influencers of his era. He was the artistic director of Louis Vuitton's menswear collection beginning in 2018, and was given increased creative responsibilities across the LVMH brand in early 2021. Abloh was also the chief executive officer of the Milan-based label Off-White, a fashion house he founded in 2013. Please Note: We always ship with care.
