Egg colored SCHEELITE on mica and feldspar matrix - Height: 10.1 cm - Width: 7.6 cm- 545 g - (1)
This is a good partial crystal of egg-colored scheelite from Mt. Xuebaoding , aesthetically set on top of an iron-stained mica and feldspar matrix. The scheelite is not top quality by any means, but it does have a nice sharp octahedral shape with a good slightly mat luster, good internal translucency, which for any other locality would be considered excellent, and interestingly enough, despite being quite similar in color to the matrix, it still presents a good contrast and balance with the matrix.
Unfortunately, the piece is not perfect, and as such, it has been discounted. The main damage present on this piece is a clean but rugged break on the bottom left of the crystal that continues into the matrix. Aside from this, there is not much bruising on the micas, but there is some mica powder that I have not been able to wash away, so the piece is quite glittery in some spots.
