Soborg Mobelfabrik - Orla Molgaard-Nielsen, Peter Hvidt - Writing desk - Desk 310 and Chair 316 - Teak

Sculptorial Set composed by the writing desk model 310 without drawers and chair model 316, both in teak - Made in Denmark- designed in 1956 by Peter Hvidt and Orla Molgaard Nielsen for Soborg Mobelfabrik Denmark - the set is listed in the Danish Furniture Archives of the Design Museum in Copenhagen and was part of the Milan Triennale Exhibition in 1957. Original set from the 50s in vintage condition, wear consistent with its age (around 65 years) The chair, with the seat base in papercord is very light and comfortable with an ergonomic backrest, this chair has been reissued under the name Drawn HM3 Both the chair and the desk are in good conditions with a smooth patina that feels very well to the touch, there is a bump over the edge but the marks/scratched on the desktop are superficial and could be easily restored, even though the current aspect is however very enjoyable. Hvidt and O.M. Nielsen are part of the golden generation of Danish Designers together with Finn Juhl, Hans J. Wegner, Borge Mogensen, they contributed to the international spread of the Scandinavian furniture in the 50-60's, #Rooms5
