Antique beautiful French mantel clock from the 2nd half of the 20th century. gold gilding on brass. The two candlesticks are made of brass. The clock has been professionally replaced by a maintenance-free quartz clock. The clock is serviced and in a working condition. Clock dimensions: 29 cm height, 43 cm wide and 15 cm deep Weight: 4.3 kilograms The candlesticks are 43 cm high Weight: 2.6 kg each; Total weight 9.5 kilograms In a great vintage state. NB: Ormolu is the gilding technique of applying finely ground, high-carat gold–mercury amalgam to an object of bronze, and for objects finished in this way. The mercury is driven off in a kiln leaving behind a gold coating. The French refer to this technique as "bronze doré"; in English, it is known as "gilt bronze"
