Modern Japanese Photography Vol. 3: Hamaya Hiroshi Photographs" is a collection of works by Hiroshi Hamaya, one of Japan's leading postwar photographers. This volume is from a series (9 volumes) published by Sogensha in the late 1950s. This is a collection of individual photographs by Ihei Kimura, Ken Domon, and Hiroshi Hamaya. The works included in the book include "(Singing) Bird Chasing," which is also included in his masterpiece "Snow Country," and "Awara Rice Planting," a symbolic image of primitive agriculture (however, this one is not of one well-known woman), as well as "Rape Seed Harvest" (cover), "Dancing Girl in Asakusa," "Turkey," "Orphanage in Harbin," "Flower Selling Boy," "Uemura Shoen Painter," "Kobayashi Hideo Father and Daughter," "Country Doctor," "Castle Town," "Fisherman," "Woman Rushing Along Snowy Road," "Rice Harvest," "Mensama New Year," "Clouds, Waves, Snow and House," "Beijing Couple," "Totally Unfulfilling," "Glass Cleaning," "Shin-Maru Building," "Tokyo Looking Down," "Yanagawa," and more.
