The travel stained GT40 driven by Jacky Ickx and Jackie Oliver leads the Herrmann/Larousse Porsche 908 through Maison Blanche to record the fourth consecutive Le Mans victory for Ford.During the final hours the lead changed frequently, with the JW Automotive car ultimately victorious over the chellenger from Stuttgart.The Winning Car, chassis 1075 which had also takenthe honours the previous year,covered 327 laps totalling 3005 miles at a average speed of 125,44 mph to record the closest racing finish in the Le Mans history-14th/14th June 1969.
