Early 1970s, classic MCM table lamp by Giorgio Marianelli & Raul Barbieri for Tronconi, Milano. A large, handsome and striking desk or table lamp from the 1970s, it is a rare and classic example of Italian high design, as stylish today as the day it was manufactured. In great condition, commensurate with age - see detailed photos. Measurements: 80 h x 60 w x 22 cm diameter base disc. (A wine bottle is included for scale in one photo - not included in the sale!). This lamp has been rewired, tested and fitted with a UK plug and braided black lead. Comes with the bulb shown. It’s a highly architectural, classic mid-century piece - lamps of this kind are sought after today and can be found on Pamono, 1stDibs etc. It is both elegant and robust, with a heavy base of enamelled cast metal, and a chrome finished arm.
