Figurine of Prince Rama with a Bow - Thailand (No Reserve Price)

Vintage bronze statue in gold and green of Prince Rama shooting an arrow. The large bronze sculpture depicts Lord Rama, a revered figure in Hindu mythology, standing majestically with a powerful and graceful demeanor. It is 26cm in height with wooden base. Rama carrying his bow. Rama, from the Ramayana story, according to believers, is an incarnation of Vishnu, performed miracles and defeated demons to get his wife Sita back, and fought against the armies that took her. Attaining purity of mind and hitting a target both require concentration, effort, patience and knowledge. That is the meaning of the statue. Through wisdom (the bow) one launches the virtues that lead to bliss. If there was an arrow it would pass directly through his head, but that is a part of the metaphor: The arrow is invisible because it is the archer's concentrated thought or prayer. The Thai bronze sculpture was casted using traditional lost-wax process. The statue is in very good condition. Se pictures. The statue will be carefully packaged and sent by registered mail.
