Watch a video of this specimen by following the Vimeo link below: https://vimeo.com/940930010 Here is a superb alpine cleft specimen from the Glandon pass area, more precisely from the Argentières peaks, displaying six beautiful epidote crystals emerging from a delicate bed of fibrous actinolite, supported by an amphibolite rock matrix. The epidote crystals are 0.5-0.6 cm tall and display an colour as well as strong polychroism: they are chrome green from the main display face and change to brown-orange hues when viewed from the side. A fine quality alpine specimen from a lesser known locality!
