Description
Egypt, Late Period, ca. 664 - 323 BCE. A beautiful faience ushabti with blue color for "Nes-Min". It has some discoloration affecting the head and upper part of the body. It comes from a cache reportedly discovered near Saqqara in the 1940's.
Apparently the proper translation is the Osiris Benu, found in Saqqara in the 1940’s.
The shabti displays a single row of clear and distinct hieroglyphs down the front, along with the pick and hoe, typical of the period for work in the afterlife. The hieroglyphs read:"May he be illuminated, the Osiris, Nes-min, the true of voice"
10,4 cm high
I have added a scan from a paralell with the provenance given bij the excellent shabti data base located att: shabticollections.com
